Value is migrating. Scarcity economics will misread abundance as collapse.

When intelligence becomes copyable, the old price system does not quietly update. It treats plenty as failure — until someone redesigns what remains valuable.

Emad Mostaque’s Last Economy is the diagnosis at civilizational scale: intelligence is the fourth and final inversion of economic value. A scarcity dashboard — GDP that books cancer as growth and a cure as catastrophe — cannot see the phase transition. Three attractors wait: Digital Feudalism, Great Fragmentation, or Human Symbiosis.

Sangeet Paul Choudary supplies the microeconomics of the same shift. When AI removes the scarcity of expertise, value does not vanish. It migrates to remaining constraints — risk, coordination, judgment. Peter H. Diamandis named the abundance thesis in 2012; We Are as Gods is the after-picture: the tools arrived, the human OS did not.

For all of human history, intelligence was a form of labor, scarce and locked inside human skulls. Now, for the first time, intelligence has become a form of capital.

We are about to achieve post-scarcity in the realm of intelligence, and our scarcity-based economic system is going to process this abundance as poverty.

You don’t need an AI strategy. You need a strategy for the conditions AI creates.

Abundance without meaning leads to collapse. Intelligence without wisdom leads to extinction.

The Value Network

Field laboratory for Metabolic Organizational Design. We promote a library of thought leaders whose work has shaped this walk. We do not own it. We connect the dots so a shared understanding is available as we enter the Exponential Age. The journey is a SurrealDB-shaped graph of that library.

Metabolic language is analogy. Organizational AGI and Personal AGI are attractors — no more certifications. No outcome guarantees — field research infrastructure and safe-to-fail surfaces.
